…LA lady. Seamstress for the band. Love that song and especially this scene from my favourite movie. Must re-watch soon. I didn’t learn my lesson with the heat wave and decided to wear my white jeans yet again! Sometimes I get on a kick and wear the same things over and over.
Jeans are from Joe Fresh, top is an exceptional find from Value Village – it’s vintage Jacob! the tag looks like it could date back to 1990. Sweetness. Jean jacket is also a stellar find from Value Village – Vintage Levi’s! I can’t take credit for it though, it was a gift from my BFF. My favourite sky high heels are from Winners, belt is from a vintage shop, and my necklace is from Anthropologie.

Wearing an all black outfit against an orange wall reminds me of tiger tail ice cream. I wonder if that still exists?
I’m wearing my Jason Wu for Target black pleated skirt, with a classic black turtle neck from Jacob. To make the outfit interesting I added a flower on my neck, a gold belt, and leopard boots from Top Shop. It’s all about the accessories. JD

Since taking my hair up a couple notches of blonde (gasp! this isn’t my natural hair colour) my go to colour this summer has been yellow. I want yellow everything – dresses, shoes, bags, headbands – the whole kit and caboodle. This shift dress was found recently at Jacob for $40. Styled with a black belt, beaded necklace and headband for a Mod look. However, the best accessory is the black Vespa. Just wish it was mine… CM
Dress – Jacob $40
Belt – Vintage
Shoes – Aldo $49
Sunglasses – Tory Burch, Ilori $67
Bag – Cole Haan
Necklace – Forever 21 $6
I have new favourite denim brand that I recently added to my wardrobe – Domino Jeans. They are Canadian designed (out of Montreal), well-made, and the price point is very reasonable ($100 to $150). Not bad at all. The fit is AMAZING and so far they have kept their shape. They are my jeans du jour and I’ll be showing them a lot worn in different ways. I am loving high-rise these days and the dark denim means I can dress them up or down.
I’m also wearing:
* Soft pink top from Jacob – on sale for $29
* Puffy shoulder cardigan from H&M ($34)
* Lace-up booties from H&M ($69)
* My grandma’s purse and my grandpa’s sunglasses
I was recently introduced to musician Zola Jesus and I’m hooked. Check out her gothic-chamber-pop via her Myspace. She has 3 amazing songs and a cover for your listening pleasure. My icing on the cake today? I just found out she is playing at The Garrison next Thursday, September 30th for $12.50. That is a steal and I am there. Next week will be busy for Seven Dollar Pants. LouLou magazine has a shopping event on Bloor Street Wednesday, September 29th starting at 5pm. BCBG, The Gap, Jacob and Banana Republic are the main destinations and to top it off, Joe Fresh is setting up a pop-up store at 151 Bloor Street West. All you have to do to attend is sign up on LouLou’s shopping event page. Each store is offering discounts on new fall fashions as well as cocktails, munchies and giveaways. Who doesn’t love martinis and shopping? CM
My wardrobe is all over the place with the move so my mornings are spent rummaging through piles of clothing and random boxes desperately trying to get things together. It would be so much easier to buy everything new, but that wouldn’t really be budget-friendly. I decided to go for an almost fully monochromatic look with my Joe Fresh grey jeans ($19), shirt from Jacob ($30), and Zara blazer ($89). I have gotten a lot of wear out of this blazer so I don’t feel bad that it came to a hundo. I paired this ensemble with a skinny belt from Joe Fresh ($9), a pair of shoes I bought SEVEN years ago for $19. These puppies went in the garbage right after I took this photo – they just had to go. And my favourite part of the look is my grandmother’s purse that she bought and used only once – for my parent’s wedding. It’s in perfect condition and I love it. JD
These shots were taken outside the lovely ROM on Bloor Street on a brisk but nice day. The last time I went inside the ROM, I saw the Vanity Fair portrait exhibit which was AMAZING!
I’m really happy I’ve been able to ditch my winter coat lately for this one bought at Joe Fresh. My sunglasses are from Red Pegasus on College street; motorcycle gloves are from Aldo Accessories and are on sale online at the moment; grey bag is from Winners as are my new Dollhouse booties.
My top is from Forever 21; skirt is from Jacob, and my belt is Forever 21 too. On a side note, the other day this woman complimented me on my thirteen dollar pants and asked “who are they by?” — when I said they were from Forever 21, she turned her nose up at me! I guess they weren’t good enough for her because they weren’t couture. People like that make me laugh. Anyway, I love how square this top makes my shoulders look. I think everyone should have at least one top with big shoulders. JD
