In Bruges

Yesterday I walked through a land of make-believe, except it was real.  Snow white and the seven dwarves could have lived there, and it’s where the movie In Bruges with Colin Ferrel was filmed.  The city of Bruges is known as Venice of the north for all its canals and bridges, and it truly looks like a fairy tale land.  The houses, streets, and canals are picture perfect.  It looks like people have been sweeping and tidying up for days on end.  It was Belgian day (like Canada day) and we spent it walking around, eating waffles, chocolate, and frieten (fries).  For reals.  I wore an old school Danskin body suit that I got from a friend’s moving sale for $2.  I paired it with my cherry coloured Joe Fresh skirt and black leather jazz shoes from Century 21.  Sadly these shoes are on their way out because the leather is too soft and they won’t hold up any longer.  Tomorrow we’re off to Brussels!  I think I’m going to have a hard time adjusting back to reality after my trip is over…trying not to think about it.
